Julie Bell (born October 21, 1958) is an American fine artist, illustrator, photographer, bodybuilder and wildlife painter. Bell is also a fantasy artist and a representative of the heroic fantasy and fantastic realism genres. Bell has won Chesley Awards[2] and was the designer of the Dragons of Destiny series. She also won first place awards in the Art Renewal Center International Salon, which bestowed on her the title "ARC Living Master".[3][4]

Early life

Bell was born on October 21, 1958, in Beaumont, Texas. She attended five different high schools, studying painting and drawing.[5]

In her youth, she was fond of bodybuilding. She took part in various competitions and received national recognition, which later influenced her to portray beautiful and muscular women.[5] In 1978, Bell married writer and academic Donald E. Julie Bell was born in Beaumont, Texas. A former competitive bodybuilder who also studied many years of classical ballet, Julie applies the same discipline and intensity to her art process. Her knowledge of anatomy has allowed her to imbue her figures of humans and animals with grace and strength. At the heart of her work is an element of empowerment and independence. Julie¹s work has appeared on hundreds of book covers, comic books,trading cards, and various collectibles. Her original paintings have been shown in exhibitions across the US and in Europe and Japan, and can currently be seen at Legacy Gallery in the Western US, Simard Bilodeau Gallery in Los Angeles, and Rehs Contemporary Gallery in New York City.
