Parsons was born and raised in Houston, Texas, the older of two children. After playing the role of the Kola-Kola bird in a school production of The Elephant’s Child at age six, Parsons was determined to become an actor. From 2007 to 2019, Parsons played Sheldon Cooper in the CBSsitcomThe Big Bang Theory.[2][3][4] He has received various awards, including four Primetime Emmy Awards for Outstanding Lead Actor in a Comedy Series[5] and the Golden Globe Award for Best Actor in a Television Series Musical or Comedy.
