Biography[]
The country music performer Jud Strunk was born Justin Roderick Strunk, Jr. on June 11, 1936, in Jamestown, New York. He was a vocalist, played tenor banjo and piano, and recorded four albums. He was also an actor who specialized in comedy.
In 1960, while still in his twenties, he moved to Farmington, Maine, eventually making his home on a 100-acre farm in Eustis, Maine. Strunk toured in a one-man show for the United States Armed Forces, after which he regularly traveled from Maine to New York City to perform. "A Daisy a Day" (1973) made the Billboard Top 20. A sentimental ballad, it was performed on Rowan & Martin's 'Laugh-In', where Jud Strunk was a regular member of the cast. On 5 October 1981, he died while taking off in his private plane, along with his passenger.

Biography
Early years
Born in Jamestown, New York, United States,[1] he was raised in Buffalo, New York, where as a small boy his showmanship became evident. After he learned to play the banjo, Strunk began entertaining locals and went on to wide recognition after appearances on national television network shows such as Rowan & Martin's Laugh-In and The Tonight Show Starring Johnny Carson.
