  Biography

  Ms Helena LO Yin-Ying, commonly known as LAW Lan, is one of the most prolific and respected actresses in Hong Kong. Since entering the film industry in the 1950s, Ms Lo has appeared in over 100 films. Stepping into 1970s, Ms Lo started her career in the television industry, playing a myriad of iconic characters with her acting talents.

  From 1990s onwards, Ms Lo has received a wide range of recognition. She was nominated twice for Best Supporting Actress in the Hong Kong Film Awards, for playing the role of “Dragon Madam” (a psychic who can communicate with the spirits). In 2000, her role in the film Bullets Over Summerearned her the Best Actress Award at the 19th Hong Kong Film Awards. Her outstanding contributions to the Hong Kong film and television industry were further acknowledged in 2002 and 2013 when the Television Broadcasts Limited bestowed the “Life Achievement Award” and the “Most Competitive Actor in the Profession” to her respectively.
