Before fame, he frequently sketched Disney characters and as he got older, his style matured & it was a natural progression into fashion illustration and design. He said nostalgically:

“I grew up on Disney movies and the female characters were my initial source of inspiration to draw. I would draw them over and over until I got them spot on! I was fascinated by the magic and beauty of it all. I always credit Disney for serving as such a strong inspiration and influence in what I do.”

Meet Hayden Williams, the fashion illustrator to Hollywood stars

British fashion illustrator and designer Hayden Williams is part of a new wave of young people who are harnessing their social media platforms to build global brands.

The 27-year-old’s fashion illustrations go out to his 1,2 million Instagram followers and have attracted the attention Hollywood stars like Rihanna, Beyonce, Kylie Jenner and more.

Williams says that he takes inspiration from what is happening in the media to come up with his work.

“I think pop culture plays a huge part in my work, so I always love to look at what is happening in the media and getting inspiration from music, movies and more,” he says.

Williams first started drawing as a child. Later in life, Disney princesses would form part of his inspiration because of their femininity, elegance and sophistication.

“I realised that my interests and the kind of art I was creating were linked to fashion design and fashion illustration, so I pursued it,” he explains.

There are two types of people on Instagram ‘posers’ and ‘nosers’, I myself am a noser. Basically all this means is I nose around through other peoples photos and have not a single one up myself. Sounds bad I know but my life really isn’t really interesting enough to post any of my own photos and who really cares enough to post pictures of food and mundane stuff like that. It was during one of my nosing around sessions that a friend of mine liked a picture of some amazing illustration and that is when my fascination with Hayden Williams began.
